Hello,

This is a note to say that the operating system on your computer—Windows 10—is nearing the end of its support. To ensure your device stays secure and continues to receive updates, it will need to be upgraded to Windows 11.

To achieve this, we have two options available:
  1. Schedule a time with us – We can set aside about 1.5 hours to complete the installation together and make sure you're able to access your email and other essentials afterward. This is normally done on campus, but we can meet remotely to review if that is necessary.

  2. Self-service option – We have pushed a BigFix Fixlet to your computer that you can run at your convenience. The installation will take some time, but you can continue working while it runs. Ensure that your computer is plugged into power for the duration.
Once the installation is finished, you will be prompted to reboot. You’ll have a 4-hour window to do so before the system restarts automatically.
Please see below for detailed instructions on how to run the upgrade via the BigFix Self-Service Application.

After the upgrade to Windows 11, log in as usual via Pennkey credentials. You may need to sign back in to a few applications such as Zoom, Outlook, and Adobe.

Please let us know if you have any questions—we’re happy to help!
